My flock of Morning Doves is nearly 60!
They come in just before day break to eat & of course eat all throughout the day.
It is important if you feed the birds to continue in the winter as they need you too.
They stay because they need to fuel their self to survive the cold nights.
If you don't want to feed birds in the wintry months one should stop feeding them in late summer
to early fall so that they can find a good winter roosting where food is plenty...or they will die.
They will be so hungry at times in the early morn
they don't care if I am filling the feeders. (50lbs every 2-3 days)
Of course I wear my camouflage & maybe they think I am a tree?

All My Love & Embracing YOU!
Arriving Into 2010!!!

Arrivals

Sapphire skies owned by jewels delectations….
Ruby gloams upon eventide’s arriving eve;
Dropping crystals from onyx painted firmaments;
Where whirlwinds evenfall will polish the earth a new…
White rain falls upon the statuesque limbs in solitudes;
…Offering beauteous gems gathering wintry essence.
Fireside hearths aglow warm the heart of homes;
Giving presence into the slumbering closures of today…
Crepuscular vibrancy fades into the quietude of nightfall,
as we all await arrivals of our new birthing year…

Happy New Year 2010 an Arrival!!!

Vickie, a true friend of nature are you -- I think your photo captures the essence of nature's beauty and emphasizes how fragile life is at the same time -- great work here -- may your 2010 be spiritually rewarding, filled with love and joy my friend -- Jon Michael

OMG your photos are always stunning. I always feel like I'm helping Mom when I feed the birds. She won a barn feeder in a contest.
We have morning doves- but just a pair.
Awesome arrivals!

Nature's patchwork quilt, you've offered us another piece to the healing blanket, seed and bird stitched together as a healthy flock, Victoria...
