Season's Change

Although I love the fall, I'm a "summer person," so it's a bittersweet time for me...

It arrives through an open window in

the middle of the night, when a gentle

breeze softly ruffles my hair.

The moon hangs in the distance of an

early September sky, countless stars

twinkling all around.

The air now smells of autumn as summer

comes to a close, life’s new chapter ready

to unfold.

Dawn, Dawn, Dawn, each season has such beauty, the dark nights are the cosy nights, the autumn has a beauty of solitude and we only love summer thanks to the beauty of the other seasons.

You can go play conkers and catching leaves 'neath the full moon light.

Beaut of a write from a beautiful lass. x

How gently, subtly you ease us into the season, Dawn.
I'd love to be able to sleep comfortably with my window open at night; unfortunately it's too humid all the year round. Where I am, I miss the seasons and their changing quilts.

I was thinking the same thing yesterday by the Pacific Ocean. You can see a slight change of water color and feel a small bite in the wind as autumn slowly creeps ashore. It's actually my favorite time of year. Nice poem Dawn.

Totally with you in this, Dawn, being a sunshine-type BUT, having been blessed with a wonderful, lengthy period of dry and fair climes, I'm ready for the first time in many years to feel the contrasting sensual swell in the elements that are now daily presenting. Your words move us into this phase of transition nicely. xx
