I have found treasures
Or I should say rediscovered
Of my cousins, my brother and I
A John F Kennedy Dollar
Nonna saved for Aretha and I
We were born in 77
And the coin was made that
Year so in the hope chest
That use to belong to my Nonna
It safely goes
The hope chest is mine now
A wicker and lace
Of memories made
Some before I was born
Nonna and Nonno's wedding guest book
From Feb.6 1945
Mom's Christening Gown
One from the mid eighteen fifties
When Pictures were still new.
In another box
A collection of Mark Twain books
That use to belong to my Uncle Frank
But now I treasure them
Aged and yellowed
But those pages hold memories
Of a young Italian boy
Sitting back and reading
The adventures of Tom Sawyer.
An album full of pictures
That were of foster aunts and uncles,
Nonna had almost four dozen in her
I found the picture of me when
I was three
Red hair back them
And a dimpled grin.
What a gift this move is turning out to be
I am finding Sentimental Treasures
A treasure trove of family history.

"I come from a very sentimental family, Nonna had newspaper clippings of us, baby pictures of course, school papers, and childhood books, now those memories have been passed on to my cousins and I. We get to be the keeper of the memories...God Bless"
