She sits in the doctors office
A cold medal bed, covered with paper
Listening to foreign words to questions she
Did not know she had.
Something was wrong long ago
She knew that,
And so many doctors saying so many things
But saying nothing at all.
Empty words were so often spoken
And doctors so often treated you
Like you had no more intelligence
Than a house fly,
But something is wrong and you know it
And now you have found
A doctor who listens and believes
And says the things you need to hear
Even if they scare you at first,
But you know that with knowledge comes power
And with help,
God's help and those you care about
You will make it.
