This day a piece of my childhood slipped away...

I watched as they drove away,
Until I could see that old beat up station wagon,
That was caring my best friends to far away from me,
No More.
They were going back to Texas,
But it may as well have been the moon,
In my early teenage mind.
They'd been like sisters and brothers to me,
We had shared almost everything,
Now we were being seperated,
And all I could do was wave and cry,
Clutching my favorite bear,
And the pictures of my best friends,
To my chest.
