My 12 year old daughter Amanda wants to share her poem and sketch with you fine authors here. Amanda did her poem and sketch all on her own. I love that she is so creative. I'm trying to get back in the groove here at AD. So0n, So0n...

Does the Statue of Liberty mean anything to you?
It means a lot to me

It means freedom, so I can be me
and not have to be pushed around

It reminds me of all that I have,
so I can speak out and say what I want

It reminds me of all the brave soldiers
who fought for me to give me this freedom

So if you ever complain about what you don’t have
just remember what you have, the privilege of being free

Just remember the Statue
which stands for our freedom.

Amanda,

You have penned a marvelous poem, and your sketch is wonderful. You definitely have artistic talent, and I'm very glad to see you using it so marvelously. Please continue to write and sketch, and post your work. (Just push Dad out of the way if he's hogging the computer!)

Well Done!

Amanda,
You've put tears in these old eyes and released a sigh of contentment from between the smiling lips of pride. My heart genuinely swelled as I read your young appreciative words.
I offer you my Thank You, for sharing a message that all of us
should embrace.
I know your Dad is whistling with parental glee.

I didnt get the whole pic but what I got of it, I can honestly say that Amanda has talent in the drawing and the "poeting" departments, maybe she should write for AD instead of her dad, she will outshine him...LOL! Peace to you both, Ed & Rufuz
