the talk of a family was his lucid charm
hold my hand baby for 60 seconds please
the one thing she knew was the feel of vasoline
"n" the knowing it wont wash from his lil sheets
innocence of smiles placed here and there
toys not found now remain, forever lost
mines are laid in anothers youth barren field
footsteps lie in tears and in his silent fears
60 seconds of pleasure took away his only grip
does the monster ever know what was death?
words spew forth, " I never meant him any harm"
mommas' coming home early today......
should the ransom be a childs 60 second silence
"n" the familys puppy is left in his cell
showers aren't to be taken in a winters noon
nor, post-it notes left on a lil shattered room
"n" the sounds of running water echo in the noon
trembling hands point to a 60 second hell
as momma stepped into her lil boys room
and blood pours from a monsters temple
anxious moments summon up a mothers courage
bullets "n" gun not left in common place
reality struggles with a pursuant haste
the gun is loaded and rests upon her waist
she says, "you took away his love,
why would you take this lil virgins life?"
but, now he's dealt the final card
"you have 60 seconds left unto your life"
2 cars squeal with the point of her gun
an on-ramp just a block away
a dashboard clock blinks away 2 lives
death has become a 60 second highway
when the gun flashed in the afternoon sun
a car rolled over with a silence ringing in her head
with her minutes hour glass in hand
she looks into a state troopers fears
the flash of her broken minute glass
a scared trooper poses in fear of his life
when the only shot was left to fire
a mom was left to bleed out her life
she said, "he took away the last 60 days.
I gave him 60 seconds of his pathetic life,
please make sure my son is cared for"
sirens come to late to save a familys strife.......
