Jozzonet* form of poetry...appeasing the rain gods, hoping they will send us this elusive element!

Weather the Storms

Darkening as they linger on
Billowing clouds appear high above
Forming an overhead shower for the land
I watch in fascinated expectation as
Forming an overhead shower for the land
Billowing clouds appear high above
Darkening as they linger on

Heavenís Relief

Such need for relief of drought
Gulf Coast winds bring moisture to the parched lands
With a rumble and a roar they approach
Filling lakes, revitalizing crops, soothing souls
Heavenís Relief is a welcomed reprieve
Filling lakes, revitalizing crops, soothing souls
With a rumble and a roar they approach
Gulf Coast winds bring moisture to the parched lands
Such need for relief of drought

*The Jozzonet is a Dutch form of poetry that contains an odd number of lines (as many as you want) with no rhyme, no word or syllable count.
The middle line of the poem functions as a "mirror" for lines above and below.

(Authors note: The second poem is "wishful thinking", as we are still in much need of rain - drought times).

I concur with these sentiments, Micke. Finally, there's a bit of rain here but it's already stopped. Thank you for sharing the refreshed atmosphere created by your verses. Love and peace,

Micke

A nice Double Dutch act in literary form..

I'll resist the normal temptation to say... Do the Rain Dance..and say instead in unequivocal terms...Pray...;-)
