After watching a TV program about a woman who was abused by her father, where the last scene was of her beating the heck out of her father's grave and then she said, 'You are only a victim until you decide you are not a victim!' This had a profound impact on me, which is still with me today, it appears somewhere about page 330 or so in my book

July 1 1990...9:34 am On the Train to Sheffield
Scarred for life since childhood Emotions on the run The guilt the shame the 'Was it me?' Block out all sense of fun Abused by one who should have known No choice was offered to An innocent a child of life You cannot see can you? To those who force their will unasked Their body and their mind Upon the child so innocent How can you be so blind? Can you not see what you have done While thinking of yourself? Without regard for human life For you I’ll toll the bell To those whose innocence was torn And ripped apart in shreds I feel your tears trapped deep inside Your feelings burnt and bled Pay you no heed to others words Who put the blame on you Trust in yourself your inner voice Believe and trust in you I wish you peace and rainbows bright Head up wherever you walk Say out loud accept believe 'My child it’s not your fault' Your child was an innocent Your child’s in your brain Alone and scared and crying for Someone to ease the pain It’s not their fault that child of yours Don’t take it on yourself To compensate for others faults Put feelings on the shelf Don’t think of those who put on you Not thinking of your health Not them you now must think about You must forgive yourself

A strong voice you have here, for an important message..maybe I ought to call it advice. We struggle with our childhood traumas forever until we decide to lay them to rest...wonderfully expressed!
As for those who would abuse a child...the eternal pest upon them!

When one recognizes from where the pain stems and faces the demons that surround it, then and only then can one be truly free, wonderfully stated....
Be always safe,
