Dragon and Unicorn

Last night I saw a unicorn,
in a vivid dream.
Frolicing with a dragon,
in a field of green.

The faeries there were gathered,
in a circle all around.
Watching as the flowers bloomed,
out of unicorn hoofprints in the ground.

The dragons scales were the deepest blue,
like the ocean's waves.
It's eyes the color of the sunset,
in a land so far away.

The dragon blew puffs of smoke,
that turned to clouds of white.
The faeries laughed at the show ,
and applauded with delight.

The unicorn called butterflies,
from a magic place.
They filled the air with colored wings,
as they danced with fluttering pace.

The faeries formed a circle then,
and sang a single note.
Soft and pure and unearthly,
but, it was then I woke.

I woke to a sunlit day,
and saw the clouds of white.
much like the ones the dragon blew,
in my dreams that night.

As I wondered throughout the day,
of the dream and what it meant.
I spied a butterfly atop some flowers,
that grew in the unicorns print.

Absolutely breathtaking, Sean!! Superb cadence, theme, flow and emotion twisting! I want to dive into this world, without thought, only wings of imagination! Imagine, you could make a wonderful short story out of this! Create a character or two, elaborate their dance, and imprint your name into the hoofprints of unicorns!! Love that image:

"Watching as the flowers bloomed,
out of unicorn hoofprints in the ground."

It is one of those mind-exquisite images/lines readers swoon over!
