At first I wondered if I was going to like the subject you chose, but then I enjoyed the story-telling. I agree with Kate and I really like the fact that it reads like a ballad. Very well written.

| Brilliant. Sheila at her best. Creepy, leaving one with an uneasy feeling to looking behind as goose flesh crawls up my back and turn into a shiver. Spooky. Love it. Liz |

Sheila,
The Meg Moores of the world are the victims of cruelty and crime and of the indifference of society...and the search for closure goes on as much for our sakes as for the victim's. This is grim but not dark fantasy, your steady lines and steady head keep it real and meaningful.
Kate's right, you excel in this genre.

| MY GOOODNESS... THIS IS EXCELLENT... Sheila, you excel in this genre, and with such effortless rhyme. This form is perfect for your material - a lament and ballad all in one. I salute you for this... I'm not that partial to "dark" writes as such, but this is like a documentary which is living, rather than ghoulish for the sake of it. Again, kudos! :)) xx |

Dear Poetess! I really enjoyed reading this October offering, and it’s wonderful flow… & also I enjoyed my own recollections to men I have known who tried to wear “angels skin” (oh hummm……) little do they know our perceptions are much deeper than their waning deliveries of conception…poor poor Meg Moore though…she fell for his trap, where some of us just like to play….

You had me hanging on every word in this one Meg er ah I mean Shiela, it was like you became this young girl and told the story through her eyes and voice. You captured the way a person, a family or a community react to such violent unnatural acts. Great write and definately submittable.
