Happy New Year, dear Den friends,

Although I haven't been around much, I just wanted to let you know that I haven't forgotten any of you wonderful friends.

I started out with a poem and stars in my eyes. Having met you all, the stars are so much brighter.

I feel privedged having read your work. I feel honored that you read mine.

This is a repost of an earlier poem that I thought was appropriate to express what I'm feeling.

Thank you.

In appreciation and love,

Marilyn

This is dedicated to all my friends here at the Den
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Friends are minted in many different alloys.
Some are like cast pot metal, based on utility, they
Last only briefly and break at the slightest stress.
Others are like aluminum, they take a lot of heat and
Pressure until they melt into a shapeless puddle.
A few are like stainless steel, they're durable and
Withstand the corrosive tears that moisten our lives.
Silver describes those that are unique and valuable,
Yet who tarnish if not protected and polished.
Golden can only describe those that are found rarely
In a lifetime, and shine regally above the rest.
And then there are friends like you…
Forged of the strongest, most valuable and everlasting of
All the metals… Platinum.
