I Prayed For You © 2008 Kathy A. E. Jones

Today I whispered a prayer for you.  It may not have been like others do. 

 I prayed something simple and then I was through.

I said Lord remember my friend She’s your friend to.

I could have prayed quite differently, could have chosen to to tell God everything you needed.  But He already knows.  

I could have rehearsed all the good you’d done.  How you cared for the hurting, even when on the run.

Told Him how much joy to others you bring, but you were sent by Him, and He gave you the songs you sing.

So I thought to myself as I looked at the time.  Praying for you was a blessing of mine.

For I’d prayed for lots of folks all along life’s way ,but never like I prayed for you today. 

Realizing more fully that you were a friend of mine and Both of us had a friend in God who knew what was on our minds.
