The ramblings of an old man.

Sometimes I often wonder how Iíll make ends meet.
Without a penny to my name and living in the street.
Will happiness avoid me and love be never found.
Has life chose to ignore me as I walk above the ground.

If you pay me half my worth
Itís twice what I deserve
From the very sound of it
I know it sounds absurd
If you stop and dwell on it
Iím sure that youíll agree
That money isnít everything
At least itís not for me

Thereís so much more to life that money just canít buy
Pull up a chair if you care Iíll attempt to tell you why
Thereís God in all His glory and Christ His only Son
Then for most the Holy Ghost for us the battles won

All this makes no difference now thereís nothing left to do
I made my peace with God above His love will see me through
So look inside your wallet how much did it cost
For Christ to die for all ours sin nailed upon the cross

Again, this is profound writing. I am gripped by the honesty and wisdom of your words.

I read your poems and liked them all, but being not a poet that's all I can really say. Welcome home, Savage. Terry

Savage Grace, as I just remarked at Tinka's, honesty will see you through. Maybe that sounds smug...however, it's a bit of wisdom acquired the tough way. You express yourself well and catch the reader's empathy.

You already said it all in this poem.
