Silent tears cascade down her cheeks,
A waterfall full of bitter regret and pain,
Her mind's a maze deprived of reason,
Her heart stolen; never to love again,
Empty promises resound in her head;
A tormenting echo that will never die,
Her soul abandoned on a highway -
Yet another reason to cry,
Left with memories she tries to discard,
The image of a face she can't forget,
A million questions left unanswered,
Weighed down by her own regret,
Remnants of sweet nothings
Lie staring back from her bedroom;
Love letters, photos, flowers
Who knew the truth would uncover so soon.
Self respect diminished;
A candle blown out by a breath of lust,
Hanging onto her sanity for life's sake
She's surviving but only just.
Silent tears say silent prayers
As they cascade down a snowy face,
Silent hopes take youthful love
And drifts away without a trace.

so sad, keighley! captures my mood perfectly; am missing my mom, who died nearly 14 years ago (WILL be 14 years on wednesday, the 17th, st. paddy's day). woke up crying and ended up writing a five page letter to her! will add to it in a day or two! this write made my eyes water, too (and right now, keighley, i am afraid it doesn't take too much!)! thanks for sharing!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in america, karen lynn in texas. :( >tears < |
