Do Not Disturb

Don't open the door
If it's shut no visitors are to call
Open arms drawn tight to the chest
Tell you to turn back down the hall.
Even if it was open for you
Do not disturb the peace inside
Drifting memories echo silently,
Released demons once forced to hide.
Even if a whisper resounded
Don't let the fresh air drag it away
The angel's breath will cleanse it
And encase it when it needs to stay.
Even if the windows were ajar
Don't stumble blindly into blank space
Who knows what awaits you there?
The devil feels like an angel face.
Even if it feels like silk to touch
Don't light the sun through the glass
The sunlight has hours of life left,
The disturbing sights are bound to last.
Even if you rewound time,
Stumbled in a few brief seconds before
It wouldn't amount to anything
Her body would still be cold on the floor.
Just turn your back and run
He requests no visitors to call today
Even if you boldly counteracted his wishes
You'd already be too late.
