Enemies

It doesn't make sense to me
Why humans despise who should be friends
Why they form so many enemies
And why they just cannot make amends.

They spend time scheming
And plotting how to crush their enemy
On how to break their happiness
On how to devastate their society.

Governments shed insults
And force false impressions into public's mind
Making them believe their thoughts
Encouraging them to despise their mankind.

It always ends in violence
In weapons, pain, tears and bloodshed
Separating families with death
Because of false illusions in people's heads.

Young children are victims
Even though they've had no chance to do wrong
Their lives are cut so short
Just so enemies can help their plot move along.

They'll even give their lives
To kill innocent people in suicide attacks
While people stand helplessly
Knowing there's no way they can stop that.

Cities are completely devastated
Just because of these pathetic, stupid ideas
But the whole reason for them
Aren't made known to the public or clear.

Hopes are diminished
Dreams are crushed and hidden in the debry
Desires are all extinguished
And people pretend that they can't see.

It doesn't make sense
Why man should turn against each other
Why man should commit murder
Why man should decide to hate his brother.

This is what poets are for! To speak on the truth, absurdities, frailties, pinacles, failures, and irony of humankind. Great work!
