Become a Fan

When one cannot be with the person they would like to be with.

You hover just outside
my waking thoughts
a lovely, free soul.
We reach out and are as one.
Though many times we meet,
we cannot be together.
I reach for you in the night,
there is no one there.
I wake, your name upon my lips,
but speak to an empty room.
When at last you come to stay
and I can touch you every day,
Then those lonely times,
will fondly, memories become.
With my arms around you now,
you answer when I wake.
