We do not know what the next day may bring. Maybe another senseless war like none we've seen and all fear.

I wonder now as I lay me down,
just how the world will go around.
When we awake will there be strife?
Will the earth be covered with blood and gore?
Forced upon us by some stupid, senseless war.
Will calmer heads of state prevail
and not unleash another earthly hell?
Don't lose our dreams for thirty pieces of gold.
Let's clothe the children, heal the sick.
feed the hungry and care for the old.
Every man, woman or child here
should work to hold these ideals dear.
Work, hope and pray,
that we awake to a glorious day.
That we arise, to winging doves
and bright blue skies.

If only the world could evolve into a decent, warm place for us all to live in harmony..the way it was intended. Lots of food for thought in this piece, Cliff. I very much enjoyed it.

Some wise thoughts. I guess we need to pray harder for those in office who lead this country--into war--or keep it out of war.
