One person's dream is another person's nightmare

We protect our boarders
With arms and men
To secure it
It takes 1000 x 10

We watch and watch
With eyes of an eagle
If they infiltrate with gold
Will they still be illegal

The land is our salt
Made fertile from toil
Some enter with dreams
But just find turmoil

Many don't make it
As hard as they try
The journey's too long
The dessert's too dry

Their faces show hope
When the sun first rises
Their eyes show despair
During moments of crisis

Many don't make it
This adventure they seek
The ordeal is to great
For the sick and the weak

So why do so many
Plan and conspire
Crossing the boarder
With fences of barb wire

We all come from somewhere
To this land of much
Has our welcome dissolved
To the ones out of touch

Politicians preach their rhetoric
Until push comes to shove
Will they be true to their word
Whether it be hawk or dove

But in the final analysis
Everything remains the same
Our boarders are off limits
And many back from whence they came

So keep our boarders secure
From those with criminal intent
Our land is not for use
To those who circumvent

We love our precious land
We will protect it with vigor
For all that we have fought for
Please don't pull the trigger
