~~I hope I brought a chuckle or two.. oh by the way..I do love those little marshmallow heart peeps~~

I love those mashmallow heart peeps,
their all sticky, gooey, n' soft,
I leave them out so they get good n' hard,
may take a week, I buy them early, as soon
as they hit the shelf,

Check them everyday, prod them, poke them,
they look at me, n' say,
Do you have to do that so often,
give us a break,
They hold their little heart hands over
their eyes, not wanting to see my finger
coming toward them to give them one more poke;

Then the time comes, their just right,
no more sneaking to see them in the nyte,
No more day dreaming of them, feeling their
surgary beings on me tongue;

Taking the package to the table,
on which sits a great big glass of
ice water, all cold , ready to be
the chaser, I begin the unwrapping of this,
oh so yummy, sweet, confectionary treat;

I'm sweating, my breath comes in harsh gasps,
My tongue licks my lips, they have become
dry, chapped, from all the air passing over them,
oh please give me strengh , it's time;

The outer wrapper, even having been opened many times,
refuses to budge, Oh! no! come on it didn't have that
much tape on it,
Finaly it gives, the little darlings, hehehe,
are soon going to be mine, wrings her hands in
great expectation;

My knees are weak, I have to sit,
drawing the peeps closer, I can see the beautiful
pink of their little bodies, the sugar glistening,
Swaying my body to n' fro, my head trown back in anticipation,
I imagine them beginning to melt on my tongue, yes! yes!

By this time my mouth is so dry, I take a sip of
the ice water,
My hands shake at the thought of
taking those little beauties from the package,
They are six in all, the eating of these is a science
all in itself;

Drawing out the tray, the smell of my darlings, waifs over me,
Inhaling deeply, I remove the first peep, bring it to my lips,
slowly, ever sooo slowly, I run my tongue over the surface,
licking the pink sugar from it,
It's all I can do not to pop it in my mouth;

I set my teeth to nibbling the outer edges, taking care
not to take a big bite, it gets, smaller, smaller
I take a sip of the ice water, one nibble, one sip,
doing this til just a bit of the delicacy is left,
This I pop into my mouth, roll it around, getting
the last bit of enjoyment from it, I hate the thought of
swallowing it, but remembering the others, I do

Sighing, for my confectionary treat is almost gone,
I turn the last one this way, that way
gazing at it, as if it were the hope diamond,
It stares back at me, I can see it's little heart beating,
tears are coming to it's beautiful eyes, pity, pity,
take pity, it begs,
Seeing me, bringing it to my mouth, closer, closer, closer,

...to be continued next year, same time, same place, in meantime
if you see a little marhmallow heart peep out there, well
you know...

Very funny! Cass I think you had all those little peeps going beep beep beep, trying to get away as you devoured them. Bill Murray

There is really only one good use for those Peeps and they should have figured it out, had they used them on the Shuttle's tiles, those tiles could never be knocked off.
