The battles always choose which one of us will lose. Broken love
|
The battles always choose,
Just which one of us will lose.
Caught between love and hate,
Saying you are sorry is now too late.
Words from your lips strike their blow.
My life is passing in front of me slow.
Where is the love we once knew?
It made me feel alive as it grew.
When you cheated you cast the first stone.
You were backing out I should have known.
Deep inside I could feel my heart break,
As the tears I cried filled my private lake.
How can we survive this indiscretion?
Can we regain the love and affection?
The love songs our hearts sang are all gone,
Still this vicious battle for love wages on.
How do I go on with a broken heart,
As we learn to grow and live apart?
I silently watch as you walk out the door,
All alone longing for our love to restore.

Broken Love
The battles always choose

That moment that feels like all hope is lost in a relationship is saddest. You captured those feelings here. Well done:)

You are an artist who paints wonderfully words.
This was a sad ode but beautifully written.
I am touched by this precious gift of yours. |

This is a well written poem of sorrow and paint with a underlining tone of "what do we do now?"
Very delicate piece...

Some very heartfelt poetic feelings being released here. When my first wife died of cancer my world was torn apart. It's hard to equate that with a lover that is still alive. I wrote a short story about he that took 20 years to get out.
Blessings,
