Long Spent

found this in an old notebook last night

well practiced eyes
shift before they are caught
late night talkers
share their endings
with dreams
watching the sunset
not as typical as we thought
sharing the moonrise
between angony and love
holding on to what we've got
opening blood shot eyes
dismissing the beauty
of the dim lit sunrise
regretting the romance
of a long fetched full moon
taking only with us
sore necks and tired thoughts
all we thought we had
dissolving in the fresh sprung dew

I assume it was you who wrote this, Sara. It's a beautiful poem of introspection.
Best regards,
Leland
