one truth

spilling tears and unable to stop
driving down the road
or sitting in the office at work
on my bed in an empty house
is how i spent the days following

because it's you
it's always been you
and soon this bitterness
and anger that i feel
will fade out
and it will all be about you again
that is how it is
and always will be

and they tell me
someone new will come
so i try to describe
the past two years of my life
to them
these lookers on to my story
my world
that i have been trying now
for years
to find someone new

someone to replace that face
and that hair
and those feelings
which come so naturally
and are completely a part of you
and only you

because that's how it is
and will be
there is no getting over
no getting past
or soldiering through to unfound worlds
and loves
and feelings

because no one compares
no one has ever come close
you linger
always
in the back of my mind
front and center
in my heart

and sure
i'll get over the heartbreak
but will i get over the heartache?
of loving you
and only you
still knowing that
all those miles of distance
are nothing compared to the miles
and miles
of unchanging emotion
on your part
that stands between you
and me
becoming us?†

What a real love... Beyond praise. Well written. You have poet's heart.

This is so heartwrenching and so beautifully written and i can truly relate to all things here. Front and center in my heart. The heart break not the heart ache.
Tears coming again - never gone are they?
