My friend, mentor, co-worker and spiritual brother, Bill Joyce, passed away on May 8, 2008. He shared ministry with me at Christ the King Parish, Pleasant Hill, CA. At the end of every year I write a poem to each member of my team. The following were written for Bill (the most recent one only days before he died).

A poetic tribute to

2007-2008

As from a well, we
slake our thirst with his wisdom;
ad multos annos.

2006-2007

Ignatius smiles with
pride on him; ad majorem
dei gloriam!

2005-2006

Not walker, cane, or any old
pain can keep him 'way,
when homeless souls need shelter.

2004-2005

Angel in our midst,
like God’s warm embrace wrapped
‘round those who know him.

"The Wisdom of Les Miserable

Always an angel he will be now, your good friend is living in your heart forever, but you already know that. Words need not be said, but I do so like memoirs like this to deserving souls. Good write**********.
