Cannot tame your addiction
your thirst for the grave
while you swallow the bitter
it’s poison can’t save…
Feeling numb for the moment
you gain some control
yet the end comes no matter
to swallow you whole.

Can’t erase what’s been done
nor roll back hands of time
though your reason seems worthy
it’s all out of rhyme…
What you seek is to run
just to hide for a day…
pushing pain deep within you
to wash it away.

Fighting daily to rise
just to breath something new
looking over your shoulder
the past comes for you…
To embrace just a moment
to swallow it in
would be heaven inside
if you’d only begin.

There’s no pill that can cure you
no needle enough
to be all that you need
when the going is tough…
It’s your soul you are killing
while drowning your sorrow
try facing today
lest you waste your tomorrow.

Rough trip. Amazing that anyone would be so stupid to indulge in such a destructive habit for the lamest of excuses. Junkies contribute nothing and banqrupt the lives around them. You've treated it well. Fine work. Let's hope just one person listens, dear lady.
Peace,
Cherokee
