At A Loss

It’s words I whisper to your heart
yet seems you never hear me speak…
While it’s the loss of what we’ve shared
that feeds this pain and leaves me weak.

I watch you struggle through the days
where life is less than all you’d planned…
I see you hide your face from me
while I bleed from my bitten hand.

Perplexed that light so strong and bright
can fade so quickly without warning…
Leaving memories to fade
inside this darkness, I am mourning.

Life has turned you inside out
where shadows seem to dim your sight…
What good is it to live and breathe
when life becomes not worth the fight?

When did your soul begin to bleed?
Thus drowning you in trepidation…
Will you slowly fade and die?
Or will you find your own salvation?

Every soul must choose a path
now I must choose to turn away…
It hurts to know it’s come to this,
but golden in my heart you’ll stay.

Oh, Melissa!
I see you hide your face from me
while I bleed from my bitten hand.

Can I relate to this. If you get a chance
to go to my site, you might relate to
"A Tale of Mrs. Jekyl" Thanks for such understanding here.

Pretty!
I see you hide your face from me
while I bleed from my bitten hand.

Leaving memories to fade
inside this darkness, I am mourning.

Will you slowly fade and die?
Or will you find your own salvation?
...

It hurts to know it’s come to this,
but golden in my heart you’ll stay.

---- You really know how to end a stanza!
--- simple pleasure is reading your poetry!

"At A Loss" flows in octameter lines (Almost all lines.) and dances under the sounds and cadence of profound thoughts and definitions to a wise decision.

I have read an excellent WRITING, and have learned an inspired lesson of life.

I Salute You, Poet Melissa Rives.
