A nightmare turn reality
on one parting day,
when an invading monster
ripped my innocence away

Too scared to talk
too troubled to cry,
I sat in my silence
as my child years went by

Now an adult I am still
plagued by the night,
at times scared of the dark
and overwhelmed by my fright

Scarred by misfortune,
I guess one could say,
I believe I protected my
siblings and kept that
evil away

I know by his death he
will never hurt again,
Now my memories are my demons
and some day I will win.

Rebecca, consider ursefl lucky to have such a wonderful family to support you. i have known a dear friend who had no one, everyone abandoned her when the bastard disgraced her. But she moved on and I am so proud of her. And you dear, it's easy for anyone to take disgrace you "physically", but no man has the power to disgrace you morally. Don't ever let anyone do that. You have always won so far but moral disgrace makes you lose. You are nowhere near that. Enjoy life coz you truly deserve it. Keep it up, beautiful poetry!

hi baby, like Robert JudeAce said, "you've already one"...just by being the person that you are, you have overcome the tragedy and the terror. you could have gone so many different ways and you chose to be a wonderful young lady, wife, and mother. please forgive me for being so blind. you are my light and my life.
