Gentle Rain

Gentle rain,

who fell today

as fourteen years ago…

bringing back the memories

of when he first departed

Oh, gentle rain

which fell to mourn

a tiny infant dying--

showed heaven’s tears were crying

Gentle rain…

whose falling changed

the yellow spring to green

Gentle rain…

dropped from my face,

mingling with the rain--

expressing soul’s heartache

Gentle rain,

who fell the same

when you were laid to rest;

and in your falling, whispered love

from angels up above

Gentle rain…

reminding me,

that souls are not forgotten

"Gentle rain…
reminding me,
that souls are not forgotten,"

Tell him that we know that he is alive with us, on the same earth and in a different sphere.
We can see you in our memory and prayer but you can see us in the real world.
Please sacred soul,
send your parents love,
wherever they are, at home
In the field or at the mall
My prayer is with you all

I find all rain to be strong elements for poetry, but 'gentle rain' the very best.
