It is time for me to feed from within,
The nourishment that replenishes the soul, not the skin.

CHANGING INSIDE
Today, it is time to begin again;
To mine own self be, a true and loyal friend.
To work with God, and give Him credit,
For knowing all that is to my debit.
I must begin to live anew,
The life He set out for me and you.
To make my footsteps heed His path,
To forget all the petty anger and wrath.
It is time for my life to change again.
For my body and spirit to blend again.
For me to do the things that are right;
For love and justice to be my plight.
It is time for me to feed from within,
The nourishment that replenishes the soul, not the skin.
It is time to search from the depths of my heart,
The direction to go, as I make a fresh start.
Today, I will be the best that I can.
I will try to live spiritually,
Not physically as a mere man.
But deeper into the mind and the heart,
Of Dear God, who grooms me,
And trains me for something truly apart,
From the men that only woo me.
It is the inside that changes,
And the outside just follows;
When one works with God,
Who can fill all the hollows,
With depth and with gladness,
with time in thought, well spent;
It is God who can putty and fill
All the dents.
It is the inside that God works with us,
Over and over.
He struggles to love us,
And I am sure, shrugs his shoulders.
In wondering how one so perfectly created,
Could fade so colorlessly,
when by the world jaded.
It is change though, that He makes to our hearts from within;
That keeps us upgraded, and finely tuned in.
To the things of importance, the treasures that matter,
To keep us singing in tune, while our lives gain in great measure.

Words that we all should strive to live with/by or to incorporate into our lives but, unfortunately, few of us ever will .....
Well written BJ ..... Thanks. |
