|Concurring with Jerry....Neanderthal Women is more appropriate for me, but it is good to see that there is such a thing in this life still, as Good parents, and they deserve the tribute you have afforded them

|Dan, this poem touched me deeply. I have such happy memories as a child. My parents struggled to raise eight children by the grace of God. I was the oldest so I had alot of responsiblity growing up. When I was 18 my mom was killed by a hit run driver. She was crossing the road and just didn't see him coming. It was raining hard that night. Years later my Dad died of heart complications. They both live in my heart and will forever. I miss them both terribly, but know they are in a much better place. Thank you for sharing this poem and taking me back in memory. Awesome write.

|This is a superb tribute to your parents and a validating gift for them. Most (not all) parents deserve such praise and recognition. Well done, Dan. Thank you. Love and peace.

|I just love this. It isn't often that we get to read a "real" poem about of all things "parents" You did them proud Dan, and I thank you for sharing this for it shows us that we don't give the praise and honor we should to our mother and father. They deserve more recognition than most of us give, Beautifully done!

|Hey Dan, this is a wonderful tribute to your, or anyone's, mom and dad. My father has passed on now several years back, but I can whole-heartedly agree with your sentiments here. I never knew how wonderful he was to me, and how much he tried to teach me until I had to walk through his shoes. I have been thinking a lot about him lately. And your poem brought it all home to me. Thanks. ~ Sara|

You right...our parents did what they thought was best!!
Today we as parents are trying to do the exact same thing...but I think with less success...in my case I believe it's true!!
Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New yers to you and yours!!

|What an old-fashioned poem! Do you realize that you have BOTH mother and father here? Unbelievable that could happen in those dusty days of yore. We are so much better off these days with the "single mother" than having to deal with that Neanderthal man. Oooh, I imagine I will make some folks mad now, but that is just the way things are. You are right, the two-parent fammily was one that depended upon each other to make pay the bills and teach the children right from wrong. That seems not to be the case these days with Uncle Sam taking the place of good old dad. It is a shame.|

|A wonderful ode to your parents, Dan, and thanking them is probably something many of us should do more often.|
