Greatest Hits of 2010

This year is burning away, far, far away, but the greatest hits are playing across the radio.

This year is burning away,

far, far away,

but the greatest hits are playing

across the radio.

Turn it up, DJ.

Let me taste life.

I’m not afraid but brilliant,

and I’m gaga for Gaga.

Let the music speak.

Let me fade away,

but as the stars toss and turn,

fueling my soul with inspiration,

I cannot break free.

This world is still in turmoil,

and I tell myself

to remember the good times,

hold on to the happiness.

But it’s still slipping out of my hands.

We are hurting,

and no light has shined its way

through the darkness

holding our hand.

As the greatest hits turn the beat around,

I know that we are not lost.

All we need is faith,

faith in each other

as INXS so beautifully sings.

All we need is faith

that this world will shine one day

not too far

away,

and a new year

begins.

We are hurting,
and no light has shined its way
through the darkness
holding our hand.

I think this is so true but I also appreciate and desire to believe in the message that you share at the close of this poem, Melissa. Thank you. Love, peace, and best wishes,

Regis
