Flip Flops or sometimes known as slippers were always provided when one stays in hotels or lodging houses. They were just there and very ordinary. So much so that oftentimes we did not remember what colour are they. Yet they played their part and imagine if they can talk. What will their stories be?

they smiled and bid me good morning
shaking out the phantom of rejection
ever so faithful to man alone
denying fear he, in silence abhors

he took the flip flops for granted
and so, were the soles of his feet
intelligence is their right
for they are not made by fools

they do tell stories, to lone wayfarers
of satin-smooth feet so dainty
flip-flopping her man to jealousy
putting nations on fragile footings.

these flip flops loved their guests
who flaunts stash upon stash
                    of undemocratic cash
that coloured the nation's heart
God is never present, cash does

he was all tears as he rose
the pair at the door were too new
since when and why, he quizzes
like me says the maid, temporary and transient.

his breath and deeds rushed forth
fusing into the flip flops
tugging the bow of Zeno
urging the release of his arrow
and no precondition wanting.
