Peas Right Off the Vine.

3/22/2002
Spot
He used to eat peas right of the vine.
“Hey spot, don’t get slobber all over the pea vines!”
Crunch, crunch.
A big black dog.
All his kindness
Could not fit in a giant
Heart.

Spot
He used to run down a
Hill.
We used to race,
And play-hide-and-go
Seek
When I was little.

Spot.
He taught me to eat peas right off the vine.
Crunch, crunch.
He was my protector,
My friend,
My guardian angel.

Spot.
He liked strawberries,
and my stuffed buffalo,
that made noises.
He lived longer than I did,
And when he was gone
I had to regrow
a piece
of
my
HEART.
