Fall and Fall
First rush of blood:
Your heart knew me.
As I floated
face down in myself,
clutching at the world
with a baited smile.
Your eyes invited me.
Beautifully engaging mine
in a graceful conversation of looks.
A home fire flickered at last in the dark,
as I passed my heart into the glow.
Your tongue received me.
Passionate and probing;
wrapping me in a tartan shawl.
I sighed, but could do nothing at all,
but fall and fall and fall.
Your body entertained me.
It entertained us both;
stroking and bending
us into our favourite secrets.
Two rhythms pulsing toward one life.
Realisation:
You have given me everything.
A heart to cry with,
a soul to love with
a smile to reply with
a reason to live,
a future.
Can I give you my love?
It is all that I have,
but I give it wholly.
Now
and
then
again
and
again.
