You can’t touch me, I won’t touch you…
Because of you my smiles are few
It used to be I was your friend,
But duplicity was your first sin
Now in front of all the others
We appear as broken lovers
No one knows the truth that we
As a couple was not our destiny
Instead we set out to be companions
Never realizing the mess we’d land in
Cause you smile and laugh with everyone else
And make up lies and horrible tales
To make others believe that you have been deceived
When in reality it was I who now and first received
The lies and perpetration that bears your name
And inside my heart I live in shame
Because I do not even overstand
Why you couldn’t just be a man
Step to the plate and simply say
I have to leave I can not stay
But instead you’d rather live a lie
Far be it from me to question why
I just know that to have a friend
You have to be open to lose and to win
Life is a game of give and take
It’s all about what you make
So this road we on will soon end
And the beauty that could have been
Will be a hidden memory in my mind
Along with my renewed pride
You can’t touch me, I won’t touch you
Tomorrow I’ll smile, what will you do |
