Tangled Thoughts with Mixed Emotions

I travel the world. On one such assignment in Kabul - I befriended a local girl, through her broken English she told me of the anguish that hides in her head. This is what I took from that experience.

Away, I want to run today
Inside my bright red scream
Break through those doors
Holding back my dreams

Living in this life
Checking the sky for rain
A constant burdened reminder
Of this sadness and pain

I'm holding on too tight
Look, a shooting star
Its point cuts my skin
This time I’ve gone too far

Nothing left to wish on
My bloody star, it fell
Left me grasping for hope
Inside my wishing well

Not looking for a hero
To owe such debt
I could not ask for saving
This is loss, not regret

I want to run away
But there's nothing there
I want to shatter windows
That looks out on nowhere

This is not my life
If I'm already dead
My bleeding heart stopped beating
The tears I no longer shed

Oh Sanja my heart is breaking as I read the sadness in the words you share with us today. My bleeding heart stopped beating, the tears I no longer shed. Thank you for sharing.
