TWINKLING OF HIS EYE -Z.B.McClure
Oh see the circling of the Heavens
Where death's angels ever fly;
When every mortal contemplating-
Surely knows, we're born to die.
~
Oh, you don't wanna face the truth!
We all try so hard to hide.
But doesn't matter where we run to...
We certainly, will one day die.
~
When, once I was a younger man
And war was drawing nigh.
I trembled at this contemplation:
My own final, mortal sigh.
~
Then, when turning sixteen years
I learned, my Lord had died instead.
He promised me my resurrection;
Rested me from all my fears.
~
Oh, see the circling of the Heavens;
Jesus now enthroned on high?
I know that I will one day see Him!
In the twinkling of His eye.
~
Amen! one day will see my Jesus-
In the twinkling of His eye.

| A little over the top for me and I write spiritual poetry. There are many ill people who I think would feel insulted by this poem. However; saying that, I do believe that having "faith" is a key ingredient to GOOD Health and a long life. But to say one can "live forever" is a bit foolish, and the way life is today -- who would want to? |

Beautiful writing; wonderful to contemplate!
I'm reminded of the song my kids used to sing (me, too) "I'm going to heaven--can't wait! Going to see Jesus--can't wait! And I know I won't be late--I'm going to heaven, and I....can't....wait!"
Just a "twinkling" away. |
