Poets,are born too?

Semantics gather in prenatal lexicons

When our tether at birth is severed

We are seated

Wide eyed about imagination's table

There we savor and sup

'Til we burst with spoken word

And take up scribe to share

Precious few pages are writ

We'll create with pleasure and whit

Dialogue imbued with the color of hope

That others may share

Our way, our care

On journeys we'll take them far and near

To us, nothing is quite so dear

We'll send it from the heart

Keep it down to earth

'Tis our duty to supply readers

With paper and pen

'Tis their duty to scribe in their mind's eye

What they comprehend

Fill them with mirth

Stab them with starkness

Hug them with love

There is beauty, in a poet's birth
