|Don't know how I missed this one. Very pictorial poetry that captures the reality of a nasty summer's day in the south. I know you don't live here. so it must be just as nasty up north. I did know what wife beaters are.

|I love those wife beaters under-t's
and from your nature rich walk
and the lure of your words...even the skeeter attack!
I am there with you and enjoying the serene beauty
as I point out the wild blackberries for us to snack on
but good thing we noticed the poison ivy growing up that ole tree

flavour and perspective, fine perspective indeed!
the writing is superior, elegant and thought through;
a genuine satisfaction for this reader.

|THE TEASING REWARDS OF 'DUSK'(BODY AND MIND)...AS THE 'HEAT' OF THE SUN SLOWLY RECEDES. A FINE WORK, WELL DONE WITH DESCRIPTIVE PHRASES THAT DOESN'T NEGLECT ONE'S IMAGINATION A BIT. THANKS FOR SHARING, JON. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS|

|cicada and frogs harmonize as insects
swarm to demonize my skin rich with
the scent of attractants and swollen veins
mosquitos will ravage, suck every blue line
this for me is the epitome of the well-rendered discomfort and suffering of this write, Jon. Every line keenly felt as well as concisely articulated. This sounds like the punishment visited upon one who might indulge his penchant for "wife-beating" and for whom there is no relief or alternative to the lost-soul "walking about" described here. How coveted are those shadows in which to hide! Excellently crafted as always. xx

|For me, this gave syllabic language to more than one surreal painting of Dali. Interesting pathways here.|

|Love your vivid descriptions of a walk under "the red mugginess of julys’ sky", I could feel the heat surrounding and clinging to the walker as sweat dampened his skin. As always a fine piece of writing Jon Michael.

|Red, flushed, heat... in need of a sheltering shadow, of a refreshing thought/presence. Life's burns can be cured, but it takes a little time.
A friend and some Turkish çay are perfect too. A mysterious atmosphere in this poem, Jon.

|You must've written this last year, but you sure captured the heat of July. Glad you informed me about that wifey thing.
When I saw your title I immediately thought of the aboriginal Walkabout.

|I have to admit that "wife beater" had
an unknown, but bewitching connotation,
and so I'm glad you cleared it up...Aside
from that *Jon* I found your poem to be
richly rewarding...all for just a walk!!!
