I feel that I have pushed a boundary here and honestly I don't know if I like it or not. I listened to Carlos Santana's Samba Pa' Ti, which I have always loved passionately, and wrote freely and unsensored and then took that and got this polished gem/hunk of coal. LOL I take this with a sense of humor as an excercise in learning. What do you all think?

Santana

Verdent fields of flowers swaying in the wind

and the freedom all around is like no place that I have been.

In the way of this new world I am innocent of sin.

Colors fly to fancy and not on axis but on wisdom does it spin

and in all, champion me and I shall win.

Oh, Lover, don't you know that we are blessed

By the flowers and the grasses in the winds of happiness?

Sweet rapture does my heart feel in the spirit that I take.

I listened to the night calls and I listend to the day.

I love you in the hours and the days I do foresake.

I say come with me and we will frollick, swing and sway

And in the hour of my life I pray

Oh, Lover, don't you know that we are blessed

By the flowers and the grasses in the winds of happiness?

This place of beauty is such a rare and precious find

And the way that you illuminate darkened corners of my mind

Makes me wish that I could hang on with the ebb and flow of life.

I would not ever choose to lose you and leave our love behind.

I have no choice, although I'm disinclined.

When I must die and stop this music there's no rythm in my soul.

Remembering our love will help you heal and keep you whole.

But remember to let go enough to achieve your many goals.

Remember that our time was only part of your life's stroll.

I pray my words, your heart consoles.

Oh, Lover, don't you know that we are blessed

By the flowers and the grasses in the winds of happiness?
