You looked me in the eye and saw the very best in me.
I took one look at you and thought I saw sincerity…
In your eyes, your smile, the way you spoke, low and sweet.
From the start we fit like hand in glove, like sugar in a treat.
In the years since then we have known such joyous heights.
We have also weathered some heavy blows and woeful times.
You carried me when I faltered. I became your internal rhyme.
We have continued building a history, a life, a family that thrives.
On our next anniversary our married years will number ten.
When I stop to think, I am astonished it’s not more like two, and when
Time flies by and growing old together seems less like old but new, then
I know our Lord has granted us some blessed, early heaven.
