Lantern of Truth

Lantern of Truth

Spiraling through boundaries of time
landing into vast distant moments,
I gazed into the empty picture frame.

The remembrance of yesterdays mistake
left me to dream languish thoughts,
to a child that was conceived.

Joyous moments became lost in the maze,
as life’s thorns shredded the unborn child
and left anguished scars of reality.

Unconsciously forged memories
vanquished wounds within,
until the lantern of truth revealed all.

This poem is deicated to those who will one day face the reality of abortion. It is my hope they will find the comfort of "the lantern of truth" and find peace.

(This poem was written to a poetry challenge of a ten word list.)
