i love cajun music, and cajun food, too..
i love the bayous and alligator stew.
lousiana is the place i'd love to be,
everything is there for a person like me.

the moss-draped trees and the hot steamy sun;
louisiana is a place that is filled with a lot of fun.
dancing to the strains of a fiddle and bow,
the cajun music is a cure for all who're feelin' low.

breaux bridge, hammond, baton rouge, carencro--
no, louisiana isn't afraid to put on a show.
her cajun culture can't be beat, it's really neat--
especially to those who don't mind the heat!

festivals galore, gambling, mardi gras--
good times are surely to come to pass.
so if you want to experience something unique
go to lou'siana--for you'll want to stay a week!!

An excellently written poem with wonderful cajun descriptions. I, too, like anything that is cajun, expecially novels with a cajun setting. I also love the music, but haven't been have to find any new Cd's. Do you have any suggestions? Great write, Karen.

Oh, this is a gem, Karen?

Do you SPEAK Cajun, i.e. Louisiana French?

Moi, naturellement, je suis bilingue, soyant canadien

P.S. the very word "Cajun" is directly derived from guess what other word, yep, you guessed it, "canadien", French for "Canadian"

Thanks!
