Mommy, why? Why do people cry?
Why do Twin Towers no longer touch the sky?
What did we do, to deserve this awful fate?
Why do some people grow and learn to hate?
Why do they hate us, because we're free?
Why do they burn our Flag, for the world to see?
Why did they fly planes into buildings that day?
What kind of message were they trying to convey?
Why did so many innocent people have to die?
Did Jesus know that many angels new would fly?
How could buildings so tall just happen to fall,
It just doesn't seem to make any sense at all!!
Did the President know that this was to take place?
Did you see how the tears ran down his face?
Just WHO is responsible for this, our nation's grief?
This whole scenerio is just too hard to believe!!
Just WHO is this Osama bin Laden man?
I can't even begin to fathom, let alone, understand--
How one guy can learn to loathe and to hate
A land such as America, the United States?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's been nearly a year almost, since this occurred,
But still, our anger is left, and our flags are unfurled.
There is much love for America, that's easy to see,
Red, white, and blue, from sea to shining sea.
But when we think of that horrible day, we still cry.
We still find ourselves today, still asking: "WHY?"
***********************************************************
This is a fictional account of several of the kids in the Sandusky family talking to each other about what took place on September 11, 2001, and the yet unanswered questions too many of us still ask.
