be praying for us, part 2

we could *both* use your prayers and encouragement...

be praying for both karla and myself; we are struggling so,
and we aren't certain how the future for us will go.

bills eatin' us alive, strugglin' just to stay ahead...
but each time we try, we always seem to hit a dead end.

both of us are in pain, each day it seems it gets a little bit worse,
and sometimes we feel so bad, we feel like we're in a hearse.

achy muscles, joints, they beg for mercy,
that is the life of a chronic illness, don't you see?

also feel sad, don't have published works to our name,
and we aren't sure how to go about this publishing game.

we are clueless, and we don't know if it costs big bucks~
if it does, then getting published means we are out of luck!

we would both love to get ahead,
but we are beating our heads instead!

so please pray for us; we could really use a prayer--
we just need some support, and we need to know that you all care!

thank you for your prayers!

~love, karla j. dorman and karen lynn vidra. :( >tears<

Well all I can say is you seem to have the right formula to succeed,
Though success is a bit like buses on a wet night, never turns up when you really need it.
Best of luck.

both of y'all know you are in my prayers, texas sisters! i wish i could offer you words of encouragement, and i can! lol...don't underestimate this venue, the net, continue to submit your work to sites here, and gradually build up your work. as you do, you will find that more doors open to you as the divinity allows...as a spiritual being, i trust in god always, even when the bills are late, and i can't get my little girls the things that they want, i still know that god may not be there when i call, but he's always right on time. keep the faith, your faith, and revel in the love that you share, the family and the empathic abilities that you both share so lovingly. i know i for one am blessed to know you, and i know that these times, these moods will pass, because that is their nature. keep writing, keep sharing, keep your heads up, sistas! your texas friend, mark

Hey you girls, I don't have any idea how it feels to have a chronic illness, but I do have two herniated discs in lower back, damn ambulance work when I was younger, thought I could do anything...
I know some of the other problems, re: bills and like that, we all do, & I realize that knowing everyone else is having the same problems is not much help to you, but we are all praying and keeping you in our meditations. As for Rufuz, he is praying to the "big doggie bone in the sky" to send you help too! Peace, Ed & Rufuz

I agree with Eileen on the publishing thing. My book is being published, but I am not sure I would ever publish again. No glory at all.
You and Karla are always in my prayers.
Stay strong,

P.S. You have my email address, feel free to use it, if you need to talk. Maybe together, all three of us can get through our pain!

Karen I put you both on the prayer boards...and I'll keep you in prayer too...This is a hard time for everyone the world is in chaos we all need to pray for God's mercy for our military our president and our country! Things are going to get a lot worse.

Publishing a book is almost ridiculous for most.Only if there's a miracle will an unknown make money on a book of poetry, those who publish their own do it mostly for the sake of holding their book in their hands or leaving it as a legacy etc. There is no money in poetry books.I wouldn't waste money to publish my own even if I could!Take care and I wish you all the best.

Karen I just logged on and I am so glad I did....I only have a few minutes.....You and Karla are in my prayers always....first of all...publishing isnt all it is cracked up to be....not many get rich on it but the very famous ones.....payments come in by the nickles and dimes and dollars.....it cost about a thousand dollars to self publish a hard cover and I dont think it is worth it...what you need is immediate help...maybe go to your local church group...you are truly in my thoughts and prayers....the pain part I truly can relate to as I also suffer with it....day by day...only prayer gets me through as I do not want to be drugged....write to me anytime sweetie...you and Karla are in my fondest thoughts....God bless you both...be strong....floria

Oh you two.. I am saying prayers fo ryou as I type. I know this time of the year is especially had for those with Chronic Pain conditions. the changing weather etc seems to set off the pain. I do understand.. And finances etc.. All can be so overwhelming - the stress of which also affects our illnesses. Remember to breathe.. And be gentle with yourselves..

Love;
Melanie
