the title says it all.

in good times and in bad,
when i am happy or am sad,
i can always count on you here,
and you erase any doubts or fear.

i was feeling pretty s****y lately,
but now i am feeling happy and bubbly.
my moods have brightened like the sun,
and it is now that i must thank everyone.

thank you for caring, lifting me out of my funk,
thank you for letting me express my views, even if it's junk.
thank you for praying, i feel so much lighter inside,
and now i no longer feel like i have to hide.

i am glad i am here; you've been with me through thick and thin,
and right now i can't contain the joy that i feel bubbling within.
thank you for your love, i am feeling as light as a feather,
and i am glad that we can share our writing talents together!

I really like this poem!! Simple and sweet. I love the topic of friendship-already a powerful move on the writer's part. I love the "lifting me out of my funk" line. Sounds like something I or one of my friends would say.. hehe
Keep it up hun!!

(thank you for caring, lifting me out of my funk,

thank you for praying, i feel so much lighter inside,
and now i no longer feel like i have to hide.)

You are more gifted than you give yourself credit for. And you can express your views anytime.

Bless you, Karen, for this open appreciation of the friendship and support of your network of friends here. This is beautiful. I have also come to writing as a means of working through about 46 years of suppressed emotional "junk" in my life, and find it's like having a good shower and hairwash after an intrepid camping expedition! Good on you for having the courage to face up to and work through the issues; feeling all the better for it will be your reward! Better out than in, as this exuberant celebration suggests. So glad you have found faithful friends to help you through the dark passages in life. KB

Wonderful write :-) Its hard to explain to people that are not involved in writers sites, the specail people you meet between postings and reviews. This is why I make the time, no matter what is happening in my life. Glad to hear you are feeling better and sorry to hear that you have been going through a rough time. Enjoy the Northern Lights!

Karen, get this book: Is this you?

"I'd been experiencing some emotional issues with my significant other, and just lately in the last 2 or 3 years and I couldn't understand why it had become, so emotional."

"I was having a very hard time handling stress, I was very irritable, um, if my kids did something, even the slightest infraction, I'd see it as a very big deal."

Hi there again! Sorry that I haven't been in touch due to my own personal challenges.

I'm glad to know that all of our writings help you, just as yours help me. Let me encourage you to a free subscription to BETTER LIFE BULLETIN. Vol. 4 Issue 20 is 4 line long and talks about "Spring"--and what are you and your body gonna do about it. BLI Bulletin is an excellent read, quick and to the point.
Then there is a book I love that I call the cure for "BLUES CLUES" written by Dr. Marie Annette Brown:

What you think is depression may be just a lack of light.
If you or someone you know, male or female, experience ANY of the following, especially the FIRST FIVE symptoms, it's not all in our head Sis. I'm a witness to it:

1. Overeating
2. Weight Gain
3. Low Energy
4. Tension/Irritability
5. Sleep Difficulties
6. Foggy Thinking
7. Decreased Interest in Sex
8. Sensitivity to Criticism
9. Low Mood (in some people)
10. Mild Anxiety (in some people)

We all have these symptoms from time to time, but if they interfere with everyday routine LONG TERM, I know personally that it's a struggle to yget rid of that invisible 25 pound guilt pack we women love to tote around. Just continue to love yourself, and get this book.

"When Your Body Gets The Blues."
by Dr. Marie Annette Brown and Jo Robinson.
Format: Paperback 12.95; Hardback 22.95
ISBN: 042518899X
Pub. Date: January 2003
Publisher: Berkley Trade

I hope it helps you as well as others. Writing is great therapy, and the more we can write outdoors, the stronger the therapy because of the light factor.

be strong and well,
