Lyrical sonnet in the style of Edmund Spencer. The first lines of lament are spoken by Tithonus. One of 3 poems in the Grasshopper series.

"O troubled morns set sail this ship, search out hidden coves;

Down wrinkled cheeks roar tears to singe my heart,

Shall ne're we find eternity's treasure trove?

Life presses flesh: What's the play? Where's my part?"

Eos thy Dawn, Brightest Sister, Tithonus didst remark.

"Streak Northern Lights through my tormented skies;

Eternal youth's blossomed fruit dares turn dark

Myths snow then flake; melt fast like life's demise."

Zeus proclaims for all to hear: "I didst immortalize!"

"Lovest me ugly men? Grasshopper be thy name."

Eos, purest light, detesteth sneak surprise!

"Ugly men turn young, restor'd again to game!"

Comes mighty Zeus upon World's stage; maketh all things new;

Treasure troves of Life; Death, thou bid adieu!
