Living With The Dying
by Jennifer Miller

A touching, loving and spirtual insight of the dying process, filled with peace, smiles and starting on their journey, taking me with them as far as I could go, returning..

To ALL mothers everywhere..... Its going to be alright.

RESERVES...

Could it be
Iíve already tapped into that energy
reserved for later in life
Iím drained and fatigued groping for every breath
as I perform my motherly duties
my patience is worn thin
loneliness is stalking like a shadow
my spirit is dragging behind me on the ground
I can barely lift my feet as
I carry my numb
emotionless body

I spy
a tiny light in the distance
I move in itís direction
it is the tunnels end~
slowly I trudge forward
and amazingly
my pace picks up
time speeds up
my heart beat increases
something breaks through
on my face
a twinge of a smile
the essence of a glow
my tiredness falls to the floor

There is hope
I am alive
celebration is eminent
it has been a long day
hours since I have felt this good
this alive
I was almost crushed
under the weight of responsibility
but right now
I am fine
its nearing the kids bedtime
I have made it
though it was hard
though I was scared
I am sure now
I will be fine
because
I have the light
at the end of the tunnel
in my hand

Chuckling... Ah, I know well this feeling, having 13 children of my own. Bedtime and late hours are my best friends some days!
