Everyone needs a little time away...
|
A SPECIAL PLACE -4- ME
It’s not that I don’t value
the time and love we share
I just need sometime alone
to think~~to grow~~to stare
In my little corner
I take time for myself
I need to see whom I’ve become
I rate my growth as wealth
When everyone’s so busy
The good I do is missed
So now and then I stroke myself
I must! So don’t resist
I lean my head back and relax
I close my eyes and I drift
My daydreams take me near and far
Until the pressure lifts
Self enhancement is my focus
While I sit here and regroup
Will you try real hard to understand
Need I tell you it’s the Truth
I’m not trying to get away from you
For it’s your company I truly adore
I just need to take some moments of time
To give myself Love and feel secure

Hi SYD,
Excellent method to express that much needed moment of solitude that is so rare in this day and age. Even though we are generally a social creature the need for contemplative time and personal awareness of what what is really going on within us, not in the world is genuinely important to our spiritual and mental well being. Excellent work..I am looking forward to reading more of your poetry.
